Putin reported on Uzbekistan's great attention to preserving the memory of the Great Patriotic War

Uzbekistan remembers the legacy of the Great Patriotic War (WWII), as evidenced by the installation of cultural monuments. This was announced on May 8 by Russian President Vladimir Putin.

"I saw the importance you attach to these historical events, and that museum (Victory Park. — Ed.), which you created in Tashkent," the head of state said during a conversation with Uzbek leader Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

Putin also noted that the monument conveys the spirit of that time and recalls the unity of the peoples of the Soviet Union in the face of a common threat, as well as reflects the attitude of the country's leadership towards these events.

Earlier in the day, the Russian leader said that relations between Russia and Uzbekistan are developing in the best possible way, the volume of trade is growing and trade and economic ties are developing.
