Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico said on Friday, May 8, that he belongs to the "pack of black sheep" of the European Union (EU), because he does not want to follow the one-sided views of Brussels.

"There are such "black sheep" in the European Union, and I belong to this "pack". I am opposed to one-sided views. I think this approach is very wrong," he told a journalist upon arrival in Moscow.

Fico noted that he often expresses views that are inconsistent with the position that the entire EU "should" defend.

Fico arrived in Moscow on the same day to participate in the celebration of the 81st anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War. In addition to participating in the celebrations on May 9, the head of the Slovak government is scheduled to hold talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
