Modern hijackers and "borsetochniki" use ceramic strikers and special devices to intercept the signals of anti-theft systems, Valentin Stanovov, a former employee of the MOORE, author of the book "Notes of an Old Detective", told Izvestia.

"Ceramics are harder than glass, and therefore one imperceptible click on the corner of the glass is enough, as it crumbles into crumbs almost soundlessly. There are other ways, for example, using special equipment, you can intercept the signal and simply open the door or adjust the alarm mode so that the windows of the car roll down," the expert explained.

According to him, the season of "hunting" thieves begins in May and lasts until October. Tinting has ceased to be a reliable protection against theft, he added.

"Modern thieves shine special blue diode flashlights into the interior, which are not visible from a few steps away from the outside, but at the same time they "pierce" the tinting very well," said the source.

Experts call the installation of two-level microwave sensors with a GSM module, which send push notifications to the owner when they attempt to enter the cabin, as one of the effective protection measures.
