The cold cyclone, which brought heavy rains and snow to the Urals and Siberia, will remain there until May 11 inclusive, meteorologists told Izvestia.

Thunderstorms and rains on May 7 covered the Omsk Region and the Krasnoyarsk Territory, on May 8 heavy rains came to the south of the Chelyabinsk region, the Hydrometeorological Center of Russia reported.

Throughout the holiday weekend, the average daily temperature in the Southern Urals will be 5-8 degrees below the climatic norm. Thunderstorms and gusty winds are expected in Southwestern Siberia.

The worst of the bad weather will hit the Sverdlovsk and Kurgan regions, Alexander Shuvalov, head of the Meteo forecasting center, told Izvestia.

— The sharpest, most unpleasant and prolonged cold snap is expected there. The cold weather will also come to Bashkiria and the Perm Region, and then this wave will move further east," he said. — In the Sverdlovsk region and the Perm Region, the temperature will drop to -6 degrees.

According to the expert, wet snow will cover the Chelyabinsk region on May 9, and the Tyumen and Omsk regions on May 10. Gusty winds and icy conditions are not excluded.
