In parallel with his reporting work, Fedorov shot documentaries. During his work in Kyrgyzstan in the USSR Goskino system, he was the author of twenty documentaries.
In 1997, Fedorov became a finalist for the TEFI award in the nomination "Best Reporter" for his work in the Voronezh office. In those years, Voronezh was part of the so—called "red belt", a region where the positions of leftist parties were traditionally strong.
