The priest told what a believer should do on the memorial day.

On Trinity Parents' Saturday, believers, if possible, should attend the Liturgy, receive Communion and pray at the divine service for their deceased relatives. Vladislav Beregovoy, head of the missionary department of the Pesochenskaya diocese, told Izvestia about this.

According to him, in the church tradition, every Saturday is dedicated to commemorating the dead. For people who regularly visit the temple, there is not much difference between them. Parental Saturdays serve as a reminder to those who rarely attend church about the need to come to church "at least once a year" and pray for their deceased loved ones.

Many people visit cemeteries on this day after the service, where they can independently pray for the deceased. Prayers, including the Litany for the laity, are found in many Orthodox prayer books.

The church also does not forbid decorating graves with greenery or birch branches, as was done in Russia several centuries ago.

"Birch branches are also used to decorate temples on this day. Greenery is a symbol of life and the Holy Spirit, so the Church does not object to such grave decorations," Archpriest Maxim Pervozvansky, a cleric of the Moscow Church of the Forty Sevastian Martyrs in Spasskaya Sloboda, told Izvestia.
