In Yakutia, all 46 ice crossings operating this season were closed. The republican State Department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia announced this on Friday, May 8.

The last two crossings were closed in Verkhnekolymsky and Oleneksky districts. We are talking about the crossings of the village of Zyryanka – Zaton across the Yasachnaya River and the village of Olenek – the village of Kharyalyakh across Olenek.

A total of 46 ice crossings operated in the territory of the Sakha Republic last season. Due to the warming, the ice has become unstable, and roads have begun to close, writes IA YakutiaMedia.

Rescuers warn that the closure of the crossing provides for a complete ban on going out on the ice. Even an outwardly strong ice cover may have porous areas, washouts, and areas of meltwater below the surface.

In mid-April, the last ice crossing was closed in the Khabarovsk Territory. She worked in the Verkhnebureinsky district.
