"The Devil wears Prada 2": a guide to the images of the main characters of the long-awaited sequel

After 20 years, the film "The Devil Wears Prada 2" has finally been released. Miranda Priestly got into a taxi, Andy Sachs traded Chanel boots for velcro sandals, and Emily Charlton put on a corset over a shirt with the Dior logo on her entire chest. The sequel has already been called the main fashion event of the year, and it's not just about the plot, but also about the costumes. Andy Sachs (Anne Hathaway)

In the first part, Andy went from a "lumpy azure sweater" to Chanel boots. According to Harper's Bazaar magazine, costume designer Molly Rogers found the same sweater with a corn soup stain in the studio warehouse. In the second part, the heroine no longer tries on other people's rules. Rogers describes Sachs' style as "feminine men's clothing."

Andy's main look is a vintage Jean Paul Gaultier striped suit: a vest and trousers made of light wool with clear lines. A narrow leather tie tied in a careless knot is worn over the vest.

The key accessory is the Coach bag, which replaced the iconic Prada. Valentino became the first fashion house to offer clothes for the first film, as a sign of respect, Andy wears several outfits of this brand in the sequel.

In other scenes, Hathaway appears in an Armani Privé velvet jumpsuit with tie straps and a Re/Done denim jumpsuit with Chanel Velcro sandals.

Miranda Priestly (Meryl Streep)

Shaping Miranda's style, Rogers abandoned the rigid pencil skirts of 2006. According to her, Priestley now has looser silhouettes, jackets with rolled-up sleeves, skirts that move easily. At the same time, the wide—shouldered jackets remained - a requirement of the Strip itself in order to "inspire authority."

Miranda's main evening look is a scarlet cloud at a gala dinner, custom—made at the Balenciaga atelier. The black coat embroidered with sequins and stones, in which Priestley walks through Milan at night, is an homage to Giorgio Armani from the couture collection spring-summer 2026.

"When I read in the script that Miranda walks at night, I wanted something sparkling to reflect the evening, the wet paving stones, to resemble the starry sky," Rogers said.

The most discussed detail in Miranda's image is earrings from the CVS pharmacy chain for $12. According to Harper's Bazaar, Meryl Streep personally insisted on them.

"Get all those earrings out of the boutiques on Fifth Avenue. I found the perfect ones," the main character noted.

Emily Charlton (Emily Blunt)

The Wiederhoeft Wasp corset over a white shirt with the Dior logo on the entire chest is one of the key images of Emily. Her character, who survived her dismissal from Runway and opened a PR agency, relies on expressive things in the film. Her jewelry collection is also visible in the frame — for example, a necklace with a large blue stone, which she wears even at home.

On set in New York, the actress was photographed wearing a black and red striped Coach sweater with NY embroidery and an apple, paired with a silver tie and Dior glasses.

Nigel (Stanley Tucci)

In the sequel, Nigel has changed noticeably. According to GQ, his costumes were the main surprise of the trailer: the character "looked like a man signing checks." In the film, he appears in a cream three-piece suit with a Berluti briefcase and a massive silver ring with a scarlet stone, a detail from the first film.

Stanley Tucci admits that it was Patricia Field who "opened his eyes" to men's fashion after the first part.

"She expanded my consciousness, and it was wonderful," the actor said in an interview with the TODAY portal.
