In the Tynda district of the Amur region, as a result of a collision between a car and a truck, one person was killed and one injured. This is reported by the regional State Traffic Inspectorate.

The accident occurred the day before, on May 7, on the 170th km of the federal highway A-360 Lena. A Nissan Wingroad and a Mitsubishi Fuso truck collided.

As a result of the accident, two Nissan passengers, men born in 1988 and 1999, were killed. The driver of a car born in 1996 was injured, writes IA PriamurMedia.

The causes of the collision were not reported, but the police opened a criminal case under paragraph "a" of Part 6 of Article 264 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Violation of traffic rules committed by a person in a state of intoxication, which negligently caused the death of two persons"). This means that one of the drivers was drunk at the time of the accident.

An investigation is underway. The maximum sanction of this article provides for up to 15 years in prison.

In February, a court in the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous District sentenced a motorist who got behind the wheel drunk and caused a fatal accident. At a speed of over 100 km/h, he drove into oncoming traffic to overtake several cars at once, but abruptly decided to turn back. Twisting the steering wheel to the right, he crashed into a special vehicle that was clearing the road. His passenger died on the spot.
