St. Petersburg metro replenished with 50 Baltiets trains
In St. Petersburg, the 50th Baltiets train was delivered to the Avtovo electric depot. This was done as part of the metro renovation program.
According to Governor Alexander Beglov, who cites 78.ru The passage of the Oktyabrsky Electric Car Repair Plant was launched on lines 1, 2, 5 and 6. By the end of the year, the metro will receive 15 blue Baltiets trains under contract.
Beglov noted that at the moment these are the most modern subway trains. The share of Russian-made materials, assemblies and parts in the train design is 95%. Each line has its own color of trains.
After the end of the commissioning tests, the jubilee train will be released on line 2. In total, by 2031, the metro of the Northern Capital will receive 950 Baltiets wagons of various modifications.
At the end of April, Beglov, during a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin, said that the construction of a high-speed railway line within the borders of St. Petersburg was on schedule, and the first piles had been driven. The Governor noted that the high-speed railway is not only one of the largest infrastructure projects of the XXI century in the country, but also included in the city program "Ten Priorities for the development of St. Petersburg" until 2030. As part of the implementation of the HSR, the construction of the new Krasnoselsko-Kalininskaya metro line in St. Petersburg has already been accelerated.
