A special military operation to protect the civilian population of Donbass has been conducted by Russia since February 24, 2022. In accordance with the decision of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Russian Armed Forces, during the celebration of the 81st anniversary of the Victory, from 00:00 on May 8, all groups of Russian troops in the special military operation zone completely stopped fighting and remained on previously occupied borders and positions.

Despite the announcement of the truce, Ukrainian armed formations continued to launch strikes using unmanned aerial vehicles and artillery against the positions of our troops, as well as civilian targets in the border areas of the Belgorod and Kursk regions. A total of 1,630 violations of the ceasefire regime were recorded.

Under these conditions, the Russian Armed Forces mirrored the violations of the truce. They retaliated against firing positions of multiple rocket launchers, artillery and mortars. Control points and launch sites of unmanned aerial vehicles were hit.

Over the past week, before the truce was announced, in response to Ukraine's terrorist attacks on civilian targets in Russia, the Russian Army launched six group strikes, including with high-precision long-range ground- and air-based weapons, as well as unmanned aerial vehicles, which hit enterprises of the military-industrial complex of Ukraine, fuel and energy facilities. and port infrastructure used by the Armed Forces of Ukraine, military airfields, ammunition depots, storage and launch sites for unmanned aerial vehicles, temporary deployment sites for Ukrainian armed forces and foreign mercenaries.

Over the past week, the North group of troops, as a result of active actions, established control over the settlement of Miropole and hit the manpower and equipment of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The enemy lost more than 1,535 people, five armored combat vehicles, 98 vehicles, 14 artillery pieces and eight electronic warfare stations.

The Western group of troops hit the Ukrainian formations of four mechanized, assault brigades, a regiment of unmanned systems of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, two air defense brigades and a National Guard brigade. The losses of the Ukrainian militants amounted to over 1,345 soldiers, 25 armored combat vehicles, including three US-made M113 armored personnel carriers, 153 vehicles and 20 field artillery guns. 20 electronic warfare and counter-battery warfare stations were destroyed.

As a result of active offensive actions, the military personnel of the southern group of forces liberated the village of Krivaya Luka in the DPR. The enemy's manpower and equipment were defeated. During the week, the Ukrainian Armed Forces lost more than 950 militants, 19 armored combat vehicles, including a German-made Marder infantry fighting vehicle, an Italian-made Puma armored personnel carrier and an M113 armored personnel carrier, 110 vehicles, 16 field artillery guns, 13 electronic warfare and counter-battery stations.

Units of the Center group of forces destroyed the equipment and manpower of five mechanized, motorized infantry, jaeger, two airmobile, assault, airborne brigades, an assault regiment of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, two marine brigades and five National Guard brigades. The enemy's losses amounted to over 2,130 people, 34 armored combat vehicles, 62 vehicles, 16 artillery pieces, nine electronic warfare and counter-battery warfare stations.

The Vostok group of troops continued to advance into the depth of the enemy's defenses. The manpower and equipment of two mechanized, assault, three amphibious assault brigades and four assault regiments of the Armed Forces of Ukraine were defeated. During the week, the losses of the Ukrainian armed forces amounted to more than 2,155 soldiers, 24 armored combat vehicles, 47 vehicles and seven field artillery pieces.

The fighters of the Dnepr group of forces improved their tactical situation. Formations of three mechanized, mountain assault brigades and a brigade of unmanned systems were defeated. In total, the Ukrainian Armed Forces lost up to 285 militants, seven armored combat vehicles, 123 vehicles, four field artillery guns, and 19 electronic warfare and counter-battery stations in this area.

Over the past week, a Croatian-made RAK-SA-12 multiple rocket launcher combat vehicle, two Grad multiple rocket launcher combat vehicles and two robotic multiple rocket launcher platforms were destroyed by unmanned aerial vehicles, rocket troops and artillery of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation.

Air defense systems shot down 44 guided aerial bombs, 18 US-made HIMARS multiple rocket launchers, six Flamingo long-range cruise missiles, six Neptune long-range guided missiles and 4,385 aircraft-type unmanned aerial vehicles.

According to the Ministry of Defense, since the beginning of the special military operation, 671 aircraft, 284 helicopters, 144,279 unmanned aerial vehicles, 659 anti-aircraft missile systems, 29,225 tanks and other armored combat vehicles, 1,717 multiple rocket launchers, 34,830 field artillery and mortars, 61,124 units of special military vehicles have been destroyed.
