The meeting was attended by representatives of federal authorities, the Government of the Republic of Tatarstan, the Roscongress Foundation and relevant agencies.

"Russia has a successful experience in hosting events of this scale and level, including the Russia—ASEAN Summit in Sochi in 2016. Today, it is important to ensure clear coordination of all involved structures so that the upcoming Summit in Kazan is held at the highest level and contributes to further strengthening the strategic partnership between Russia and ASEAN," Ushakov said.

The participants discussed key issues related to the preparation of the Russia—ASEAN Summit and Business Forum, including organizational, protocol, transport, medical and media support for the events. Special attention was paid to the issues of interdepartmental coordination.

"Preparations for the Russia—ASEAN Summit are underway intensively and require maximum coordination of all involved structures. There is very little time left before the start of the events, so today it is especially important to use all the resources for a high-quality organization of the Summit and Business Forum. Our common goal is to ensure a high level of events, comfort and safety of participants, as well as create conditions for a meaningful dialogue that will help strengthen the partnership between Russia and ASEAN in the emerging multipolar system," said Anton Kobyakov, Adviser to the President of the Russian Federation, Executive Secretary of the Organizing Committee.

During the meeting, representatives of the Russian Foreign Ministry informed about the preparation of a substantive agenda for the Summit and final documents aimed at further strengthening the strategic partnership between Russia and the ASEAN countries.

"Following the Summit, it is planned to sign a final declaration that will confirm the legal basis of the partnership between Russia and ASEAN, which has been developing for 35 years. Joint statements on a number of promising areas of practical cooperation are also being worked out. The focus is on issues of global and regional security, sustainable development, and working out joint solutions in the face of modern challenges," said Andrei Rudenko, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation.

The structure of the Summit's plenary session and preparations for the Russia—ASEAN Business Forum were also discussed during the meeting.
