UAZ spoke about the preparations for the production of a new SUV

The new pressing line, which is being built at the UAZ industrial site in Ulyanovsk, will produce body parts for the new Sollers S9 SUV. This was reported to Izvestia on May 8 in the press service of the enterprise.

"The new pressing line is being assembled for the subsequent production of body elements for the Sollers model ranges, including the promising S9 SUV and UAZ. This equipment will ensure the rapid production of high-quality parts and will make a significant contribution to increasing the volume of cars produced," the company said.

As reported at the Ulyanovsk Automobile Plant, five presses for stamping parts of Sollers pickups, and in the future, UAZ cars, are already undergoing test tests. The line will reach full capacity soon. In the frame building, the foundation of the sixth press is being completed with a force of 2,500 tons-forces, the press will take its place in the first span. In the second half of the year, another new crane with a lifting capacity of 50 tons will be placed in the building to move the die tooling.

The Sollers Group announced on April 22 that it will begin mass production of the Sollers S9 all-wheel drive frame SUV in September this year. The presentation of the new model is planned in the near future, announced Mikhail Guryanov, head of the Sollers Product Development Center. The S9 SUV is based on the currently produced Sollers ST9 pickup truck, which, in turn, is based on the Chinese JAC T9.
