The Russian Railways Company (RZD) will hold the All-Russian campaign "Victory Horn" on May 9. This was announced on May 8 by the Federal Passenger Company (FPC).

"At 12:00 local time, freight trains and shunting locomotives, high—speed trains and electric trains that will be on their way at this moment will give a long beep," the company said in a message on the Maks messenger.

The tradition dates back 81 years. In May 1945, a few minutes before the official announcement by announcer Yuri Levitan about the German surrender, steam locomotives sounded throughout the country, which became a symbol of the end of the war.

Russian Presidential aide Yuri Ushakov said on May 7 that a number of foreign leaders had expressed a desire to visit Moscow on May 9. He noted that military personnel and planes will fly by on foot at the Victory Day Parade, and there will also be a speech by Russian President Vladimir Putin. There are no plans to demonstrate military equipment this year.
