The air defense forces repelled a night attack by Ukrainian drones on Yaroslavl

The air defense forces and electronic warfare equipment repelled a night attack by Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) on Yaroslavl. This was announced on May 8 by Mikhail Evraev, Governor of the Yaroslavl Region.

"Tonight, on the approach to Yaroslavl, the air defense and electronic warfare forces repelled an attack by Ukrainian UAVs. There are no casualties. There may be fragments of drones in the region," he said in a message on the Maks messenger.

He added that the threat of repeated attacks remains. The work of the departments of the Russian Ministry of Defense and law enforcement agencies continues.

Drones are mainly targeting civilians — almost 85% of the affected civilians were hit by UAVs in April.

On May 8, the Ministry of Defense reported that the air defense forces shot down 95 Ukrainian drones over the territory of Russia in four hours. The drones were eliminated over the Belgorod, Bryansk, Voronezh, Kaluga, Kursk, Rostov and Smolensk regions. In addition, drones were intercepted over the Krasnodar Territory, Crimea, the Moscow region and over the Azov and Black Seas.
