The IRGC called the US attack on an Iranian tanker a violation of the truce.

The Iranian side attacked ships of the US Navy in response to Washington's violation of the ceasefire. This was announced on May 8 by the press service of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).

"After the violation of the ceasefire and the aggression of the American terrorist army against an Iranian oil tanker near the port of Jask and the approach of American destroyers to the Strait of Hormuz, a very large—scale and precise joint operation was carried out using various types of ballistic and anti-ship cruise missiles," the Telegram channel said.
