The draft resolution from the Russian Federation and China on the Middle East is still on the table

The draft resolution of the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) on the situation in the Middle East, prepared by Russia and China, is still on the table. This was announced on May 8 by the press service of the Russian Permanent Mission to the United Nations.

"Our text is still on the table," the Telegram channel said in a statement.

It is specified that Moscow and Beijing submitted the document earlier in April. The text contains clear calls for the parties to the conflict to cease hostilities, renounce the use of force and resolve existing differences through negotiations.

The draft resolution pays special attention to the issue of freedom of navigation. According to Russian diplomats, these provisions fully relate to the situation in the Strait of Hormuz.
