UAZ has reported on the construction of a new press line

The construction of a new pressing line at the UAZ industrial site in Ulyanovsk is coming to an end. The project is being implemented with the support of the Industrial Development Fund (EDF). This was announced on May 7 by the automobile plant's Telegram channel.

So, in the frame building, the preparation of the foundation of the sixth press is being completed with a force of 2500 tons-forces, the press will take its place in the first span. In May, it is planned to fill the floor slab simultaneously with the completion of work on the slab in the second span. In the second half of the year, another new crane with a lifting capacity of 50 tons will be placed in the building to move the die tooling.

The company noted that five presses for stamping parts of Sollers pickups, and in the future, UAZ cars, are already undergoing tests. The line will reach full capacity soon. The duct and the old crane with a lifting capacity of 16 tons are also being dismantled, and the eastern facade of the building is being renovated.

In January—March 2026, 3,403 new UAZ vehicles were sold in Russia, which is 31% less than in the same period last year. As previously reported in the company, the company expects to increase car sales in the second half of this year. They recalled that restyled UAZ cars should appear in dealerships in early autumn.

Earlier, on May 4, the Ulyanovsk Automobile Plant reported on the passage of a product quality control audit at the production stage. The inspection was carried out from April 27 to April 30 by experts from the SATR‑FOUNDATION certification agency in accordance with the regulations of the Customs Union.
