The second victim of the barbecue season appeared in Lipetsk

Another Lipetsk resident was injured while cooking kebabs. The man accidentally knocked over a barbecue and ended up in the hospital with burns of the most severe IV degree.

The victim was hospitalized in the burn department of Lipetsk city Hospital No. 3 "Svobodny Sokol". Doctors diagnosed a 34-year-old patient with burns to his feet and hands with deep charring of the tissues.

According to GOROD48, this is the second victim of the barbecue season. So, in mid-April, a 60-year-old resident of Lipetsk was admitted to the burn center.

The man was opening the barbecue season at the cottage. While building a campfire, he accidentally poured liquid over his hand and the limb caught fire due to careless handling of the fire.

After the incident, the victim hoped that the arm would go away on its own, but over time, severe inflammation began on it. Doctors diagnosed the patient with a grade IV burn and phlegmon, an acute diffuse purulent inflammation of the skin and cellular spaces caused by a bacterial infection.

Earlier in the day, the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations recalled the rules of safe cooking of barbecue in the country. It is necessary to place the barbecue at a distance of at least 5 m from any buildings, 30 m from deciduous trees and shrubs, and from coniferous forests — no closer than 100 m.
