The NYT reported the release of Epstein's alleged suicide note.
A suicide note allegedly belonging to American financier Jeffrey Epstein has been made public by a New York Federal Court. This was reported on May 6 by The New York Times (NYT).
"They continued my investigation for months — they found nothing!!! <...> It's so nice to be able to choose the time to say goodbye. What do you want me to do? "He burst into tears!! No fun — it's not worth it!!" reads the handwritten text.
According to the newspaper, the document was kept secret for several years as part of the criminal case of Epstein's former cellmate Nicholas Tartaglione. He claimed to have found the note in July 2019 after the financier was found unconscious in his cell. A few weeks after the incident, Epstein was found dead in a prison in Lower Manhattan. The New York City Medical Examiner's office ruled his death a suicide.
The Verdens Gang (VG) newspaper reported on April 30 that Edward Juul Red-Larsen, the son of two senior Norwegian diplomats under investigation in connection with financier Jeffrey Epstein, committed suicide in Oslo. It is noted that the incident occurred against the background of the publication of information that the man's parents, Mona Juul and Terje Red—Larsen, took him to Epstein Island at the age of 10. The financier later bequeathed $5 million to Edward himself.
