- The expert told the Russians about the possibility of saving money using smart sockets
Apartment residents can save from 200 to 800 rubles per month on paying for electricity using smart sockets. This calculation was made on May 7 by Dmitry Vysokogorsky, NTI expert on promising and new energy sources.
"Smart sockets do allow you to save money, but the effect is moderate — in a typical apartment it is 200-800 rubles per month," he told RIA Novosti.
The expert explained that the main savings are achieved by disabling hidden consumption and automating the operation of household appliances. According to him, the smart socket itself does not reduce the energy consumption of the device, but only controls the power supply and turns off the equipment when it should not be working.
Vysokogorsky noted that televisions, chargers, coffee machines, microwave ovens with displays, routers and air conditioners can continue to consume electricity even when turned off if they remain connected to the network. In this mode, consumption can range from 50 to 150 watts around the clock.
As an example, the expert cited televisions that consume from 1 to 5 watts. According to his calculations, this is about 3.6 kWh per month, which, at a tariff of eight rubles, gives almost 30 rubles of expenses. A smart socket allows you to completely de-energize such devices manually or on a schedule.
According to Vysokogorsky, a good smart socket costs from 1 thousand to 2.5 thousand rubles and, with minimal savings, can pay off in a time period of up to 10 months. It is especially advantageous to use such devices in homes with a large number of appliances, including home theaters, game consoles, old appliances and boilers that are in standby mode for a long time.
At the same time, the expert warned that with frequent use of technology, it will not be possible to significantly reduce costs, since smart sockets are only responsible for turning on and off the power supply.
"The main savings in the house are achieved not by sockets, but by insulation, replacement of old appliances and conscious consumption. Smart sockets are a useful but auxiliary tool," he concluded.
The results of the research of the service "I will choose.<url>" On May 5 showed that almost 40% of Russians are proud of their ability to save money and consider thrift an important part of their personal financial strategy. According to the results, 41% of respondents directly associate the level of income with a sense of personal success.
