An active employee of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) and his accomplice, an entrepreneur, were detained on suspicion of organizing a scheme for fictitious employment of men to obtain a deferral from mobilization. This was announced on Wednesday, May 6, by Prosecutor General Ruslan Kravchenko.

"The cost of such "services" was $8.5 thousand per person. For this money, the men were registered by the company's employees only on paper — without actually doing work or staying at the workplace," the Telegram channel said.

The scheme was exposed after one of the potential clients contacted law enforcement agencies. Further documentation of criminal activity and transfer of money took place under the control of special services.

As Kravchenko noted, the SBU officer was detained right at the time of receiving $34 thousand. The pre-trial investigation is ongoing, and investigators are identifying other persons who may be involved in the operation of this scheme.

On April 27, the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) announced the detention of two employees of the Security Service of Ukraine in the Poltava region, including the head of the investigative department, who were caught accepting bribes.
