Ambassador Kelin warned of Russia's response to London's new alliance

Russia will respond decisively to any British actions that undermine Russian interests. This was stated to Izvestia on May 6 by Russian Ambassador to London Andrey Kelin.

"At the same time, I would like to emphasize once again that all London's hostile adventures are invariably taken into account in our military planning, and there should be no illusions here. Any actions that undermine Russian interests will be met with the strongest response," the diplomat said.

According to him, Moscow considers the British initiative to create the so-called "Alliance of Northern Fleets" based on the Joint Expeditionary Forces as an attempt to jointly confront the Russian Federation mainly in the Baltic.

"Britain's own fleet is far from in the best condition, so London is putting together another military coalition to combat the alleged "Russian threat." These efforts by Albion are also aimed at increasing the degree of Russophobic hysteria in Europe, which will inevitably lead to increased tension now in the Baltic region," Kelin stressed.

Some are talking about the possible use of this format for the blockade of the Baltic Sea. Such ideas have been around in the Nordic countries since time immemorial, but no one has been able to implement them.

"It won't work now either. Britain and its allies will not have enough resources to realize such ambitious aspirations," concluded the Russian Ambassador in London.
