The French aircraft carrier Charles de Gaulle has moved towards the Strait of Hormuz. This was reported on May 6 by the French TV channel BFMTV, citing data from the country's Ministry of Defense.

"The approach of the French aircraft carrier group makes it possible to assess the regional operational situation before launching the initiative and propose additional ways out of the crisis to strengthen regional security," the ministry said in a statement.
