Ukrainian refugees accept any job in order not to return to their homeland. This was announced on May 6 by the Finnish national broadcasting company Yle.

"According to the latest survey by the Ministry of Internal Affairs, only 6% of Ukrainians plan to return to Ukraine after the end of hostilities," the publication says.

Minna Serraj, a regional specialist at the Migration Service, noted that if a person wants to stay in Finland for a long time, they should apply for another residence permit, for example, based on work. It is specified that about 30% of 40 thousand Ukrainians are employed, while 68% are actively looking for work.

Irina Shcherbakova, a specialist in the prevention of labor exploitation, added that high unemployment and uncertainty about temporary protection make Ukrainians vulnerable. Even realizing that we are talking about exploitation, many are forced to agree to such conditions.

Finnish activist Sally Rayski reported on May 2 that refugees from Ukraine in the European Union (EU) countries are deliberately inciting hatred against Russian-speaking residents. According to her, Ukrainians are taking advantage of the current circumstances. Their task is to oust Russian—speaking people, regardless of their political views.
