- Trump commented on the clause of the deal with Iran on the use of underground facilities
The potential agreement with the Islamic Republic of Iran does not imply its use of its underground facilities. This was announced on May 6 by US President Donald Trump in an interview with Liz Landers, a journalist for the American television service PBS News.
"That's right, yes," he replied to the question he received.
The head of the White House, commenting on the text sent to Tehran, stressed that the American side is moving towards its goal. Trump expressed hope for the signing of the document soon, otherwise, he once again threatened to "bomb" Iran.
The Axios portal learned on the same day that Washington and Tehran were discussing a memorandum on the nuclear program. This agreement, as noted, is the closest that the parties have managed to reach since the beginning of the conflict. It stipulates that in return for refusing to enrich uranium, Iran will receive the lifting of part of the US sanctions imposed on it.
On the same day, Trump stressed that at the moment it is "too early" to talk about direct peace talks with representatives of the Islamic Republic. At the same time, the Reuters news agency learned that the Iranian authorities called the text of the American side a "wish list" rather than a reality.
