Oak from Tula claims to be the Russian Tree of the Year
The Raspberry Zaseka Oak represents the Tula Region in the "Russian Tree of the Year — 2026" competition. Voting has already started, the head of the region Dmitry Milyaev said in the Maks messenger.
The famous wildlife monument grows within Tula, on the edge of the forest in the historical "Raspberry Patch" (between the village of Kosaya Gora and the Moat station). The century-old tree is part of a vast forest area.
According to the governor, the oak is a tree species that has played a key role in the formation of the mighty serif forests.
"Zaseki has not only protected Russian lands for centuries, but to this day they serve as a home for rare species of plants and animals, preserving the biological diversity of the region," Milyaev emphasized.
According to TSN24, you can vote for the Tula candidate or any other tree until August 1, 2026 on the official website of the contest — rosdrevo.ru .
