Tokayev declared Kazakhstan's readiness to defend its interests from tougher positions

Kazakhstan is a peace—loving country that encourages everyone to resolve conflicts using diplomatic methods, but is ready to defend its interests "from tougher positions" if necessary. This was announced on May 6 by President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.

"We are convinced that all conflicts should be resolved through diplomatic means, through negotiations, but if necessary, we are ready to defend our interests not only through diplomacy, but also from tougher positions. We believe that the principles and norms of international law should be strictly followed," he said.
