Members of the European Commission (EC) have accused Italy of disrespecting the values of the European Union (EU) in connection with Russia's participation in the Venice Biennale. This was reported on May 6 by the Financial Times newspaper.
It is noted that official letters have been sent to the organizers of the event and the Italian government stating that the Venice Biennale "will violate EU sanctions if it includes the Russian pavilion in the exhibition."
