- The Interior Ministry told about a new scheme of fraudsters with data leakage from fitness clubs
Attackers are able to gain access to the personal data of Russian citizens using databases of clients of fitness clubs and beauty salons that have leaked onto the open Internet. Alexey Goryaev, Deputy Head of the GUUR Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia, told about this on May 6.
"If the attackers managed to get your spa or fitness club account, then thanks to it they will be able to get data about you," he told RIA Novosti.
It is specified that personal data, phone number and other information will fall into the hands of intruders, which they will be able to use in the future.
The Moshelovka press service reported on May 5 that scammers had begun sending malicious files disguised as holiday cards by May 9, allegedly on behalf of Russian President Vladimir Putin or the governors. The experts of the platform recommended not to open attachments with postcards if they came from unknown senders.
