The deputy of the Rada proposed to cancel the certificates of disability in Ukraine
Kiev should revoke all disability certificates that allow their holders to avoid mobilization in order to replenish the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) with new recruits. The corresponding proposal was announced on May 5 by Deputy of the Verkhovna Rada Sergey Nagornyak in an interview with the Ukrainian edition of the Telegraph.
"We have to <...> reset absolutely all disability certificates without exception. The only exception is for people who have been injured and disabled since 2014. Don't touch this category of people. And check all other categories for professional aptitude. Because it's no secret that 98% of these certificates have been purchased," he said.
According to Nagornyak, after the cancellation of documents confirming disability, it is necessary to develop a mechanism that allows Ukrainians to officially "pay off" from military service. In his opinion, this is necessary so that potential tax evaders do not spend money on new certificates, but immediately invest them in the so-called "economic reservation".
The Ukrainian edition of "Country.ua" announced on May 1 that the country plans to reduce the quotas for reservations from mobilization. This step, according to the forecasts of authorized persons, will contribute to the recruitment of another 350 to 400 thousand new soldiers into the army.
