- Kazakhstan has allowed a possible refusal of electricity from the Russian Federation since 2027
Starting from 2027, Kazakhstan may refuse to supply electricity from Russia, due to the development of the republic's own energy capacities. This was announced on May 5 by the Deputy Minister of Energy of the country, Sungat Yessimkhanov.
"In 2027, I think we will not [buy electricity from Russia] at all," TASS quoted him as saying.
