Starting from 2027, Kazakhstan may refuse to supply electricity from Russia, due to the development of the republic's own energy capacities. This was announced on May 5 by the Deputy Minister of Energy of the country, Sungat Yessimkhanov.

"In 2027, I think we will not [buy electricity from Russia] at all," TASS quoted him as saying.
