In the Kurgan region, two teenagers were accused of a terrorist attack on the railway

Two minor residents of the Kurgan region have been charged with committing a terrorist act on the railway. This was reported on May 5 in the Telegram channel of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation.

"The investigative authorities of the Central Interregional Investigative Department for Transport of the Investigative Committee of Russia have charged 15- and 17-year-old residents of the Kurgan region under paragraph "a" of Part 2 of Article 205 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Commission of a terrorist act by a group of persons by prior agreement")," the publication says.

According to the investigation, in October 2025, teenagers colluded with an unidentified person through the Telegram messenger. For a monetary reward of 25 thousand rubles, the defendants set fire to railway equipment on the territory of Kurgan.

The investigators, together with operatives of the regional FSB, are establishing the perpetrators of the crime and all the circumstances of the incident. Searches and interrogations were conducted as part of the case, and a number of examinations were ordered. The court chose a preventive measure in the form of detention for the accused.

The Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation stressed that foreign intelligence agencies are actively using social networks and messengers to recruit teenagers. The organizers of the sabotage take advantage of the gullibility of minors, inciting them to commit serious crimes. The ministry recalled that participation in terrorist acts entails severe punishment, up to life imprisonment.

On March 18, Svetlana Petrenko, the official representative of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation, told Izvestia that the teenager, on the instructions of Ukrainian curators, was planning a sabotage and terrorist act in an Orthodox church in Ufa, and he was detained. According to the investigation, the teenager turned out to be a supporter of an international terrorist organization banned in the Russian Federation and was recruited through a messenger by a curator who was on the territory of Ukraine.
