Rustem Umerov, Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine (NSDC), will not be able to attend a meeting of the Interim Investigative Commission of the Verkhovna Rada on the "Mindich case" because he will be on a business trip abroad. This was reported on May 5 by the newspaper Ukrayinska Pravda with reference to the response of the NSDC staff.

"Based on the results of the review, we inform you that the Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council <...> Umerov will be on a business trip outside Ukraine within the time period specified in the letter of the interim investigative commission of the Verkhovna Rada <...>," the NSDC said.

The Ukrainska Pravda newspaper on April 29, citing transcripts of fragments of Mindich's films, said that Umerov took part in discussions with businessman Timur Mindich about expensive contracts, the production of drones, and the purchase of body armor. The businessman also expressed his concern over Umerov's resignation from the post of Minister of Defense of Ukraine.
