More than 23 thousand dangerous cars have been evacuated in Moscow since 2017
Since 2017, the Moscow Parking tow trucks have moved more than 23 thousand cars without license plates or with fake signs to special parking lots. This was announced in the Maks messenger on May 5 by the Moscow Department of Transport.
Such vehicles are evacuated by decision of the Anti-Terrorist Commission of the city. As Maxim Liksutov, Moscow's deputy mayor for Transport, noted, cars without license plates or with fake signs may pose a threat — they may be hijacked or involved in illegal activities.
BMW cars were most often found in special parking lots during this period — 2,764 times. Next in the anti-rating are Mercedes-Benz (1972 times), Toyota (1633 times), Kia (1470 times) and Volkswagen (1112 times) brands.
The Department of Transport urged citizens who notice a suspicious vehicle to report it to the police. The owner can pick up the car if nothing illegal has been found in relation to the car.
The day before, the insurance company said that according to the results of the first quarter of 2026, Lada once again became the leader in the anti-rating of the most emergency vehicles in the country. Since the beginning of the year, the number of accidents involving Chinese cars and the proportion of women responsible for road accidents have also increased.
