Ukrainian civil servants may soon begin to be fired due to the introduction of artificial intelligence (AI) technology, which will replace them. This was reported on May 5 by the newspaper Ukrainska Pravda, citing a statement by Natalia Alyushina, head of the National Agency for Civil Service of Ukraine (NAGS).

Some of the Ukrainian civil servants are already actively using artificial intelligence in their work, and some will lose their jobs in the future due to the new technology, the article says.

"We have been working on artificial intelligence for a long time and have felt its certain convenience. We are all moving towards optimization. Routine processes, which can be replaced or taken over by artificial intelligence, definitely need to be implemented," Alyushina said.

She also noted that the moral aspect of using AI in the civil service remains a fundamental issue. In this regard, she stressed that AI will not make managerial decisions for a person, just as a person cannot delegate responsibility to him.

In September 2025, Gazeta Tema, citing a statement by the country's Prime Minister, Edi Ram, reported that Albania had become the first country in the world to appoint artificial intelligence to the post of Minister of State. According to the publication, an AI named Diella will be responsible for public procurement.
