The annual All-Russian vote for landscaping, which is held under the national project "Infrastructure for Life", will last until June 12 on the website zagorodsreda.gosuslugi.ru This was reported by the Ministry of Construction of Russia.

The urban environment has a direct impact on a person's physical and mental health, experts interviewed by Izvestia noted. In conditions of urbanization, when about 75% of the population lives in cities, the impact of stress factors increases - noise, air pollution, dense buildings and lack of green areas. However, a city can both worsen a person's condition and become a resource for recovery.

Creating an urban environment conducive to life and work is one of the objectives of the national project "Infrastructure for Life", which aims to improve the quality of life by 30% by 2030. According to the program "Formation of a comfortable urban environment", which is part of the national project, about 10 thousand territories are improved annually. Since 2019, more than 80,500 facilities have been renovated, including parks, embankments and courtyards. Green spaces are an important factor in disease prevention and health promotion.

"Scientific research in the field of neuro-urbanism has shown that natural spaces, such as parks, reservoirs, and squares, can change brain activity in humans. Such locations activate areas of the reward system (prefrontal cortex and nucleus accumbens), increase dopamine levels, and reduce the load on sensory processing centers. Such an environment is not just pleasant, it sets the brain up for recovery, creativity and anxiety reduction," explained Ilya Kabiolsky, a researcher of neuroesthetics and an expert in the field of brain physiology, author of the Neurourbanistics channel, a graduate student at the Department of Human and Animal Physiology at the Lomonosov Moscow State University Faculty of Biology.

Today, urbanists take these data into account when landscaping and are guided by the principles of neuro-urbanism. In particular, an environment is created that stimulates activity and social interaction, contributing to effective rest. One example of this approach is the Green Islands project in Karachay—Cherkessia, where recreational areas are formed on natural or artificial islands integrated into the urban fabric.

The concept of "the city as a health factor" is being implemented in other regions of the country. For example, in Kukmor (Tatarstan), the hospital territory has been transformed into a space based on the "Hospital—Park" model. Traffic is restricted here, safe and green aromatherapy and tactile playgrounds have been created, and rehabilitation areas such as the Zen Garden and the Health Trail. In Neftekamsk (Bashkortostan), a pine forest with a "Health trail" around the lake was landscaped: bike paths, walking routes, sports and children's areas were provided.

"The largest park projects in our country harmoniously combine advanced urban planning and urbanistic approaches with the traditions of Russian landscape gardening and landscape art, breakthrough architectural planning and engineering solutions. Therefore, the state pays close attention to the improvement of park areas. During the implementation of the project, 10,418 parks have been put into operation!" said Alexey Yeresko, Deputy Head of the Russian Ministry of Construction.

This year, more than 6 thousand objects in 1,700 municipalities in 88 regions of Russia were submitted to the All-Russian vote for landscaping. Residents themselves determine which public areas will be improved in their city or village next year. Russians over the age of 14 can participate in the voting. The number of participants is growing every year. Each of them sees the result of their choice — an improvement in the quality of the urban environment. According to a VTsIOM survey conducted in December 2025, more than 80% of Russians are satisfied with the changes that are taking place in their settlements thanks to the All-Russian vote.

"We see a lot of people's interest in landscaping issues. If in 2021 there were 9.7 million votes, then in 2025 there will be 16.6 million. Every voice contributes to where and how we live with you. When a modern park or a well-maintained square appears, people immediately go there, cafes open, the service develops, and large businesses are actively involved. The settlement is literally coming to life — economic activity is growing, territories are becoming more attractive for living and working, which gives a powerful demographic and investment effect both for the regions and for the enterprises themselves," said Deputy Prime Minister Marat Khusnullin.

Voting has become an effective tool that unites volunteers, municipal teams, development institutions, federal and regional executive authorities, the business community, as well as active citizens. In total, more than 68 million votes have been collected during the All-Russian voting since 2021.

According to the goals of the national project, at least 30 thousand more territories will be landscaped by 2030 and over 1.6 thousand large-scale urban projects will be implemented in small towns and historical settlements.
