Over time, even a fast smartphone may start to work slower, but in most cases the problem can be solved without replacing the device. Andrey Rzhavin, MegaFon's mobile equipment manager, told Izvestia on May 8.

"It is important to ensure that at least 15-20% of the memory remains free. If the storage is full, the smartphone starts to work less stably," he said.

According to the expert, one of the main reasons for the decrease in performance is overflowing storage. When there is little free space left, it becomes more difficult for the system to process data, which leads to crashes and slowdowns. Another factor is applications running in the background. Even without active use, they continue to consume device resources.

"It's worth checking the autorun list and disabling everything unnecessary from there," Rzhavin explained.

The expert added that visual effects such as animations, widgets and live wallpapers also affect the speed of work. Simplifying the interface can reduce the load on the system. The specialist also recommended that you pay close attention to updates to the operating system. New versions can either improve the device's performance or slow it down on older models.

Rzhavin paid special attention to clearing the cache and regularly rebooting the smartphone, which helps free up resources. In case of serious problems, resetting to factory settings can help, but before that you need to save the data.

"If, even after all the optimizations, the device continues to slow down a lot, it may be a hardware issue, and then updating the gadget is really justified," he concluded.
