- Evaluation standard and government support mechanisms to be discussed at SPIEF
The St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, which will be held from June 3-6, will host the session "Business Reputation: ECG Innovations (ecology, personnel, government) - ratings and best practices of government support for responsible business."
The formation of transparent and comparable criteria for assessing business reputation is becoming one of the key elements of modern economic policy. In Russia, this task has been institutionalized through the introduction of the ECG rating of responsible business, fixed at the national standard level. The prepared GOST update reflects the transition from the basic assessment model to a more comprehensive system that takes into account a wide range of sustainable development factors. The new version of the standard has increased the focus on long-term business responsibility: the provisions of the Corporate Demographic Standard (KPI rating) have been integrated, the block for assessing regulatory integrity has been expanded, including antitrust compliance and tax discipline, and criteria related to the implementation of climate initiatives and the sustainability of personnel policy have been introduced.
Igor Shchegolev, Plenipotentiary Representative of the President of the Russian Federation in the Central Federal District, noted: "As the President of the Russian Federation has repeatedly stressed, saving and multiplying the Russian people is a key national priority, and supporting a strong large family is an absolute strategic task of the state. In this regard, business participation in the implementation of the demographic agenda is gaining a special role – through the creation of sustainable jobs, the development of social infrastructure and the formation of a responsible corporate environment. The ECG rating allows us to systematically take these factors into account and create additional incentives for companies focused on long-term development."
The key issues of the discussion will be the transformation of approaches to assessing business reputation in the context of the updated standard, the impact of new criteria on companies' positions in the rating, as well as mechanisms for integrating assessment results into the government support system. Special attention will be paid to the regional level – the practice of implementing measures to stimulate responsible business and their impact on the investment attractiveness of territories.
The ECG rating is formed as an end-to-end tool for assessing responsible business and is consistently implemented within key business platforms, including the Healthy Society Forum, providing a unified approach to assessing the contribution of business to achieving government policy priorities.
