- Blogger Lercek spoke about completing the fourth course of chemotherapy. The main thing
Blogger Valeria Chekalina, known as Lercek, recorded a video from a hospital room and talked about undergoing a fourth course of chemotherapy. In addition, the blogger's fiance Luis Squicciarini reported an improvement in her well-being. All the details are in the Izvestia article.
The fourth course of chemotherapy Lercek
Chekalina is undergoing treatment at the Blokhin National Medical Oncology Research Center, where she was diagnosed with stage four stomach cancer. In total, the blogger will undergo nine courses of chemotherapy and immune therapy. Valeria's fiance Luis Squicciarini announced on May 4 that the next stage had been completed on Instagram (owned by Meta, whose activities are recognized as extremist and banned in Russia).
"Lera has had her fourth chemistry, she is struggling to keep her spirits up," he wrote.
Chekalina herself posted a video message from the hospital in which she described her condition and mood. According to her, almost half of the treatment has already been completed.
"Today I have the fourth chemistry out of nine. This means that almost half of the way is done. I'm not going to be a hero and say that I always feel good and perfect. In those moments when I feel bad, I try to focus on the fact that, Lera, you feel good: all the food stays inside you, saturates you with vitamins, minerals, proteins, and you get stronger day after day," the blogger shared.
Chekalina said that she once asked the attending physician about the secret of defeating the disease. The specialist explained that if you take two patients with the same diagnosis — one who feels sorry for himself and sets himself up for the worst, and the other who strives to move, work and stay positive — the second one's chances will be much higher. According to the doctor, the inner attitude can seriously affect both the results of treatment and life expectancy.
This advice, according to the blogger, became a guideline for her. When she feels better, she immediately returns to her usual activity, trying to feel alive, needed and included in life.
"And I want to live a very long time to see my children grow up. I want to become a grandmother, to be so old with a wand. I really want to reach that age. I believe in it," Chekalina said.
The blogger also thanked the audience for their support, noting that the warm words and faith of the subscribers give her the strength to continue treatment and leave no chance to give up.
Support for loved ones and a trip to the countryside
Valeria's friend, photographer Georgy Kamaev, reported an improvement in the blogger's well-being and posted pictures from a recent country trip. According to him, he deliberately captures not staged shots, but real moments of this difficult period — without retouching, perfect light and artificial poses, preserving both difficulties and happy moments.
"Thank God, Lera's body steadfastly withstands all the treatment, and in short but bright flashes she gets energy for an active life, playing with children, walking, socializing. But the rest of the time she sleeps during the day — that's how our whole trip out of town went," Kamaev said.
He added that outdoor recreation benefited the whole family: fresh air, sun, communication with loved ones and a calm atmosphere helped to restore strength and distract from the hard everyday life associated with treatment. Earlier, Kamaev also reported that he does not know another person with such a level of energy — even in the most difficult moments, Chekalina tries to remain active.
Return to sports and launch of the Lercek brand
In parallel with the treatment, Chekalin gradually returns to the usual rhythm of life. Doctors allowed her moderate physical activity — the blogger started dancing and swimming. Squicciarini clarified that Valeria is recovering from radiation therapy and spinal surgery, which she underwent earlier: the first classes are difficult for her, but the dynamics are positive.
Against the background of the health struggle, Chekalina also introduced her own cosmetic brand Eyya skin, which she worked on for two years, including during her hospitalization. In the commercial, the blogger appeared without a wig, thereby supporting other women who are faced with the consequences of cancer therapy.
