The attackers have come up with a new way to hack into Telegram accounts, disguising themselves as employees allegedly engaged in replacing locks and intercom keys in entrances. This was reported to RIA Novosti on May 5 by a user who encountered an attempt at such deception.

"They represent themselves as specialists who change the locks and keys of the intercoms in the entrance. They say that at first you need to follow a special code. At this moment, Telegram receives a notification with a code that the scammers ask to dictate," he said in an interview with the agency.

According to the user, the scammers claim that the numbers sent are allegedly a generated PIN code for entering the entrance, which must be "written" into the key.

It is clarified that this is actually a Telegram message with a confirmation code for logging into an account on a new device. According to the agency's interlocutor, this is the way attackers gain access to other people's accounts.

He also added that the callers probably used leaked personal data: they used their first and middle names and gave the exact registration address.

Andrey Rybnikov, a lecturer at the Department of Instrumental and Applied Software at RTU MIREA, told RT on May 2 that fraudsters in their schemes began to fake the voices of an interlocutor familiar to a person using neural networks. Rybnikov added that it can be difficult to recognize such a fake, especially if the message is transmitted by voice message without a visual row.
