Ukraine will not be able to hold out for long without external international assistance and two days. This was reported on May 4 by Foreign Policy magazine, citing a diplomat from a country participating in the PURL initiative, which provides for rapid arms supplies through contributions from NATO countries.

"Sometimes, when I talk to [American] officials, they see Ukraine as a state that could not have existed for a day or two without international support," the publication quotes the diplomat as saying.

According to the magazine, there is no certainty about the further allocation of PURL assistance packages. At the same time, as the newspaper notes, representatives of the administration of US President Donald Trump are sending Kiev "hardly encouraging signals."

It is noted that part of the American administration may not be counting on Ukraine's stability. The article also points out that without Washington's support, Kiev has limited options.

Cypriot journalist Alex Christoforou said on May 3 that possible delays in the supply of American weapons to Ukraine may be related to harsh statements by President Vladimir Zelensky addressed to Trump. The journalist believes that the Ukrainian leader underestimates the personal qualities of an American politician, including his susceptibility to criticism and a tendency to harsh retaliatory actions.
