Three checkpoints are being upgraded in Primorsky Krai for faster border crossing. This is reported by the regional government with reference to Rosgranstroy.

Large-scale work has already been carried out at the Border checkpoint (Border District) on the Russian-Chinese border. Commissioning works, equipping of premises and organization of places for employees are currently underway there, as well as landscaping of the adjacent territory.

It is expected that the modernization will increase the capacity of the point to 13 thousand vehicles per day. The number of bands will increase from eight to 22, according to PrimaMedia news agency.

The construction of buildings and structures in Kraskino (Khasansky district) has also already been completed. Finishing works, installation of equipment and engineering systems are still underway. Specialists are preparing the infrastructure for state control bodies. After completion of the work, Kraskino will be able to pass up to 750 vehicles per day, and the number of lanes will increase several times — from four to 16.

Meanwhile, modular buildings are being installed at the Hassan checkpoint on the border with the DPRK. The checkpoint will be designed to accommodate 300 vehicles per day and will be equipped with 10 lanes. The construction of a road bridge that will connect Russia and the DPRK continues nearby.

The construction of the first automobile bridge across the Tumannaya River in the history of the two countries began in April 2025. It is planned to launch traffic on the new crossing in the summer of 2026.
