On the eve of the 81st anniversary of Victory Day, the National Media Group, together with Rossotrudnichestvo, is launching an international campaign to show military-patriotic art projects at foreign venues. This was reported by the NMG on May 4.

The screenings will take place at the venues of Russian houses and Russian embassies in the CIS countries, Europe, Asia, Africa and Latin America. Among the countries that have already joined the campaign: Belarus, Armenia, Argentina, Chile, South Ossetia, Turkmenistan, Tanzania, Tunisia, Japan, Malaysia, Sri Lanka, Tajikistan, Abkhazia, Cyprus and Italy. The program includes NMG series dedicated to the theme of historical memory, heroic deeds and the fate of man in wartime. Among the projects announced for the show are "Operation Neman", "Smersh 3", "Dear Willy" and "Lilies of the Valley. Such a tender love."

Svetlana Balanova, General Director of NMG, noted that project screenings abroad help preserve the historical truth.

"The demonstrations of our military-patriotic projects abroad are an opportunity to preserve the historical truth and convey an up—to-date picture of the world to those who live far from Russia, but keep in touch with its culture and memory. We are grateful to Rossotrudnichestvo for the partnership and the opportunity to work together to strengthen this bond," Svetlana Balanova said.

Igor Chaika, head of Rossotrudnichestvo, in turn, stressed that Russian films are in demand abroad, and expressed hope for expanding the geography of the project.

"Russian films are popular abroad. In Russian houses, we regularly show not only paintings that have become classics, but also new domestic rentals. Many of our cinemas are equipped with modern equipment as part of the modernization program. We pay special attention to patriotic themes and films dedicated to the Great Patriotic War. At the same time, we try to focus on people's requests. We really hope that viewers in the countries will appreciate the films within the framework of our joint project and it will expand its geography to other countries. Moreover, the international screening program is designed not only to remind of the events of the Great Patriotic War, but also to strengthen the interest of the widest foreign audience in Russian content," Chaika said.
