According to the results of the first quarter of 2026, Lada once again became the leader in the anti-rating of the most emergency vehicles in the country. Since the beginning of the year, the number of accidents involving Chinese cars and the proportion of women responsible for road accidents have also increased. This is stated in the message of the VSK Insurance House, which was received by Izvestia on May 4.

According to the insurer, Lada led the top five most accident–prone car brands in January - March of this year with a share of 13% of all accidents (compared to 16% in the first quarter of 2025). Next are Toyota with a result of 11% (8.3% in 2025) and Kia, which had a share of 7% (5.2% a year earlier). The Hyundai brand took the fourth place — 7% (6.1% in 2025), and the Nissan brand rose to the fifth (5%).

Popular Chinese brands account for about 9% of accidents, compared with 7% last year. The leaders were Chery (1.8% of the total number of accidents and 20% of the most emergency Chinese brands), as well as Haval and Geely, and all of them showed an increase in accidents compared to the first quarter of last year, according to the study.

It is also noted that the anti-rating regions with the highest number of road accidents included Moscow (8%), Moscow Region (6.5%) and Krasnodar (6%), as well as Novosibirsk Region (4.7%), Tatarstan (3.2%), Rostov Region (3%). Among the major regions of the country, the most careful drivers live in Perm, Irkutsk (0.9% each), Tomsk (0.7%) and the Leningrad Region (0.5%).

According to the insurer, approximately 18% of accidents occur involving corporate vehicles (including taxis and carsharing). Among individual drivers, men are still among the leaders in accidents (77% of accidents), their share has decreased from 83% in 2025. About 7% of accidents are recorded involving premium brand cars. The company named owners of Mercedes-Benz (almost every third accident involving a premium car), BMW (23%) and Audi (17%) as the most "dangerous" drivers.

Earlier, on April 30, it was reported that by the end of the first quarter of 2026, the number of road accidents in Moscow decreased by 16% compared to last year, and the death toll by 40%.
