The state Traffic Inspectorate denied the May increase in fines for traffic violations
Information is spreading on the Internet and social networks that, allegedly, since May of this year, responsibility against motorists for violating traffic rules has been increasing. This information is not true, the State Traffic Inspectorate said in the Maks messenger on May 4.
So, a number of media outlets reported that allegedly on May 1, amendments to the Administrative Code came into force, which significantly increased fines for drivers. For example, fines for speeding, parking and driving without CTP have increased, fines for aggressive driving are being introduced, cameras are beginning to record new violations, and so on.
The State Traffic Inspectorate recalled that administrative responsibility in the field of road safety is established by federal legislation. Information on amendments is posted on the federal portal of draft regulatory legal acts, and the approved regulatory legal act is published on the official Internet portal of legal information.
Earlier in the day, the State Traffic Inspectorate reported that over the past first three weekends and holidays in May, 790 accidents occurred on Russian roads, killing 93 and injuring 955 people. 85 of the dead were passengers and drivers.
