Iran will regard any interference by the United States in the navigation regime through the Strait of Hormuz as a violation of the ceasefire between the parties. This was announced on May 4 by the head of the National Security and Foreign Policy Commission of the Iranian Parliament, Ebrahim Azizi, on the social network X.

"Any US intervention in the new maritime regime of the Strait of Hormuz will be considered a violation of the ceasefire," he said.

The politician said that the management of the Strait of Hormuz or the Persian Gulf will not be carried out on the basis of statements by American President Donald Trump.

The Central Command of the US Armed Forces (CENTCOM) earlier that day reported that the United States would begin supporting the Freedom Project on May 4 in order to restore freedom of navigation for commercial vessels through the Strait of Hormuz with the participation of 15,000 military personnel. The mission, initiated by US President Donald Trump, will provide support to merchant ships seeking to pass through the Strait of Hormuz unhindered.

On May 3, Trump announced that the United States would help withdraw ships blocked due to the blockade of the Strait of Hormuz. Trump also pointed out that the relocation of ships is intended only to free people, companies and countries that have become victims of circumstances. According to him, this gesture will be an important expression of goodwill.
