The expert recalled another shortened working week in May.
In the first half of May, working Russians will have another four-day shortened week, since May 9 falls on a Saturday this year, and therefore the non-working day will be postponed to Monday, May 11. Peter Petkilev, associate professor of the RUDN Law Institute, recalled this on May 4.
"In the week following May 1, Victory Day is celebrated on May 9. This year it falls on a Saturday. According to the code, the day off is postponed to the next working day, that is, Monday," he told RIA Novosti.
Employees working on a salary will not have to face a drop in income due to such days off.
Svetlana Bessarab, a member of the State Duma Committee on Labor, Social Policy and Veterans' Affairs, also recalled on May 2 that the working day on May 8 would be reduced by one hour. She clarified that in May of this year, Russians will have 19 working days and 12 days off and holidays.
A SuperJob study on April 28 revealed that about 14% of Russian residents will work during the May holidays, which is a record number of people working on these dates over the past five years. At the same time, according to the survey, there will be more men in the workplace than women (15 and 13%, respectively).
