Washington continues to discuss ways to resolve the conflict peacefully with Iran. This statement was made on May 3 by the special envoy of the President of the United States, Steve Witkoff, to CNN.

"We are in communication," the publication quoted the politician as saying in response to a question about the current state of affairs in the negotiations.

On the same day, the Axios portal reported that Iran had submitted a 14-point plan to the American side, in which it proposed that the United States agree within 30 days to cease hostilities, lift the blockade and open the Strait of Hormuz. According to the Iranian proposal, only after the deal is concluded will another month of negotiations begin.

Later, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi noted that the United States had sent proposals to Iran through Pakistan to resolve the conflict. However, he clarified that the initiative does not concern the Iranian nuclear program.

Esmail Bagai, a representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic, said that Iran had received a response from the United States to a draft peace plan for resolving the conflict that had been previously submitted to Washington. The message was transmitted through the Pakistani side.
